League Cup draw pits Cork against Longford

League leaders Cork City will play defending League Cup holders Longford Town in the quarter-finals of the competition.

The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2005 eircom League Cup was made this afternoon.

Holders Longford travel to Turner’s Cross while a Dublin derby is in store as Shelbourne host 2003 winners St Patrick’s Athletic at Tolka Park.

UCD entertain Waterford United at Belfield Park.

The winners of this Sunday’s remaining second round match between Derry City and Galway United at the Brandywell will have home advantage against Drogheda United in the quarter finals.

The matches will be played on July 4 and 5.

Quarter-final draw:

Cork City v Longford Town

UCD v Waterford United

Shelbourne v St Patrick’s Athletic

Derry City or Galway United v Drogheda United.
