Kluivert joins Valencia

Patrick Kluivert will play for Valencia next season after he passed a medical at the second time of asking.

The Holland international forward had failed his first medical with the former Spanish champions earlier this month but passed a second examination in Amsterdam.

The 28-year-old will be formally unveiled next Monday as a Valencia player at a press conference.

A statement on club website www.valenciacf.es read: “The player Patrick Kluivert has satisfactorily passed the exam he was subjected to…Therefore Patrick, after signing his contract, will be unveiled next Monday at Valencia.”

Kluivert, who spent last season with Newcastle, has been a free agent since the end of the campaign.
