Students win at Drogheda

Tony McDonnell scored for the third match running as UCD shocked title pretenders Drogheda.

Captain McDonnell rose to head home from Robbie Martin’s corner with two minutes to play.

Drogheda had taken the lead on 53 minutes when Gavin Whelan punished a mistake by Mick O’Donnell to fire past Darren Quigley.

But College levelled four minutes later when Gary Dicker’s free-kick deflected off the wall to beat Dan Connor.
