Longford smash Crystal in Cup

Andy Myler scored a hat-trick as holders Longford eased into the third round.

Paul Keegan’s attempted cross entered the net in off the far post to give dominant Town a 22nd minute lead.

Keegan was then fouled within a minute and Myler curled a superb free-kick over the wall and into the net for his first of the night.

Myler got his second to kill off the game from a 65 minute penalty after Jimmy Barden had pulled him down.

The hat-trick arrived on 82 minutes when Myler blasted home in off the underside of the crossbar.

Myler then set up Dessie Baker to tap in the fifth four minutes later.
