Tottenham missed out on a place in next season’s UEFA Cup following a draw at half-time of the opening match of the Women’s European Championships.

Tottenham missed out on a place in next season’s UEFA Cup following a draw at half-time of the opening match of the Women’s European Championships.

With Norway’s Viking FK already awarded a place in the tournament, two places were up for grabs through the Fair Play draw with Spurs having a one in three chance of taking the back door into Europe after finishing second in the Premiership’s Fair Play table behind Arsenal.

But as a result of the draw on the pitch, the two places went to the representative of Denmark, whose season ends on June 19, and German team Mainz.
