NI trio get dressed to impress
Keith Gillespie, Phil Mulryne and Jeff Whitley will go in the shop window on Saturday in Belfast.
The experienced trio are looking for new clubs after being released by Leicester, Norwich and Sunderland respectively.
However they have all been recalled by Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez for the friendly against Germany at Windsor Park to mark the Irish Football Association’s 125th anniversary.
Sanchez has named one uncapped player in his 19-man squad, goalkeeper Michael Ingham, who is joining League Two Wrexham from Sunderland.
Ingham comes in as back-up to Birmingham’s Maik Taylor as Roy Carroll – who has been released by Manchester United – recovers from injury.
Northern Ireland last faced Germany in a European Championship qualifier in 1999, going down 4-0 in Dortmund.
Northern Ireland squad to take on Germany in Belfast on Saturday: M Taylor (Birmingham), Ingham (Sunderland); Baird (Southampton), Clyde (Wolves), Craigan (Motherwell), Murdock, McCartney (Sunderland), Johnson (Birmingham), Gillespie, Whitley, Davis (Aston Villa), Mulryne, Elliott (Hull), Healy (Leeds), Quinn (Sheff Wed), Feeney (Luton), Jones (Crewe), Kirk (Northampton), Smith (Preston).
