Davies nearing Everton move

Tottenham midfielder Simon Davies moved a step closer to joining Everton today after undergoing a medical with the Goodison Park side.

Toffees boss David Moyes agreed a £4m (€5.8m) fee last week for the Wales winger as the club look to bolster their squad for next season.

Davies, 25, will complete the medical tomorrow and is then expected to sign for the Toffees, who earned a Champions League place after finishing fourth in the Barclays Premiership.

Chief executive Keith Wyness told official website www.evertonfc.com: “Simon has travelled up to the club today with the outcome of a medical and personal terms still to be resolved.”
