Van Nistelrooy makes United pledge

Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to stay at Manchester United until his contract expires in the summer of 2008.

After that he will return to PSV Eindhoven, according to the Dutch striker.

“I live here with a good feeling and I want to end my contract entirely. It ends in 2008,” van Nistelrooy told Dutch newspaper AD Sportwereld.

“After that I return to PSV – if they want me of course. Returning to PSV, that would be neat.”

United have had a disappointing season by their standards and van Nistelrooy takes his share of the responsibility.

“We did not dominate enough, found too little open spaces, did not make the game enough. I am also responsible for that. Looking back I must say I did not give enough attention to my Achilles injury,” he added.
