West Ham lead Ipswich at half-time

West Ham 2 Ipswich 1

West Ham 2 Ipswich 1

An own-goal from West Ham keeper James Walker gave Ipswich a way back into this play-off semi-final after strikes from Marlon Harewood and Bobby Zamora looked to have put Hammers in command.

Harewood gave the excellent Hammers the lead after seven minutes and Zamora made it 2-0 six minutes later – both goals supplied by left-winger Matthew Etherington, who had a terrific half at Upton Park.

Ipswich were dominant in midfield and rarely created in attack but, just before the break, Tommy Miller’s shot hit the post and rebounded back off Walker into the net.
