Sadlier shelves plans for comeback with Drogs
Former Ireland international Richard Sadlier has had to shelve plans to come out of retirement with Drogheda United.
The 24-year-old was forced to retire 18 months ago with a hip problem and has since worked as a footballers’ agent, head of Millwall’s youth academy and in the media but he hoped to return to football with Drogheda this year.
However, after holding talks with United boss Paul Doolin he conceded that his hip was not up to the demands of eircom League football and has had to give up on his dream.
Drogheda have now turned their attention to Portadown striker Vinny Arkins, who is out of contract at Shamrock Park.
