Longford and Drogheda share spoils

Steven Gray salvaged a point for Drogheda with a late equaliser in this poor spectacle at Flancare Park.

A defensive blunder gifted Town the lead on 22 minutes. Drogheda keeper Dan Connor’s weak punch on the edge of the area fell for Dessie Baker who rolled the ball into the net for an easy finish.

A dreadful second half failed to produce a shot on goal until Drogheda levelled on 82 minutes.

Defender Gray got on the end of a Shane Robinson free-kick on the left to head past Stephen O’Brien to make it seven matches unbeaten for Drogheda.
