Dons survive

Torquay surprisingly dropped into Coca-Cola League Two today as MK Dons avoided a second-successive relegation thanks to a 2-1 win over Tranmere at the National Hockey Stadium.

Danny Wilson’s side were the most likely to go down at the start of the day and when Gareth Edds’ sixth-minute strike from the edge of the area was cancelled out by David Beresford 25 minutes from time that looked like being the case.
