Shamrock Rovers have called on all supporters to come out and support the club during the current Examinership period as the club looks to enjoy a new beginning.

The club is to start a number of initiatives to encourage lapsed supporters to return and families to start going for the first time when the Hoops face Cork City on Friday night.

Rovers have also responded to yesterday’s news that the club could face losing their Licence after the club filed inaccurate accounts as part of the application for a FAI Premier Division Licence.

David Carpenter, a spokesperson for the steering group that will run Rovers during the Examinership period said: “It is something that happened under Branvard (the company which runs Rovers that has gone into Examinership), and it is an issue for Branvard to sort out with the FAI.

“We hope that the FAI will not look to punish the fans of the club who are now putting their money into the club as we all try and save it.”
