Mendes remains on sidelines
Tottenham coach Martin Jol is still without midfielder Pedro Mendes for the visit to Birmingham.
Mendes is still troubled by his broken toe and Jol believes the player is at least two to three weeks away from returning to the first-team squad.
But that is Jol’s only injury doubt for the Premiership clash with Fredi Kanoute having finally returned safely from his recent troubles in Mali.
Midfielder Sean Davis will be included in the squad but he is destined for a place on the bench with Michael Brown and Michael Carrick preferred in the heart of the midfield.
Spurs may also be without defender Thimothee Atouba, who faces a disciplinary hearing at the Football Association on Friday morning.
Atouba has denied a charge of violent conduct relating to an elbow incident involving Manchester City’s Joey Barton at White Hart Lane two weeks ago. If found guilty, Atouba faces a three-match ban.
Provisional squad: Robinson, Cerny, Kelly, Pamarot, Gardner, King, Naybet, Edman, Atouba, Davies, Davis, Ziegler, Brown, Carrick, Defoe, Keane, Kanoute, Mido.
