City hoping for Dolan settlement

The legal teams representing Cork City chairman Brian Lennox and former manager Pat Dolan are to meet later this week.

The legal advisors will push for an early settlement on Dolan’s outstanding contract terms — he had one year to run on his contract before he was sacked by Lennox just three weeks before the kick-off to the new season.

“I would like to see an early settlement in this case just for the sake of some stability in the club and hopefully we will finalise things fairly quickly,” said Lennox today.

Dolan, whose contract was worth an estimated €80,000 per annum, will be represented by solicitor Norman Walsh.

Lennox will be represented by the club solicitor, Olan Kelleher and it is understood both parties are looking to reach an amicable settlement.

Meanwhile, City’s Kevin Doyle has been drafted into the Irish U-21 squad to play Israel on Friday night, but this will not interfere with City’s home game with Bray Wanderers on the same evening.

Tickets for the Good Friday’s home league game with newly-promoted Bray and Easter Monday’s Setanta Cup clash with Shelbourne are on sale from the usual outlets now.

For this weekend’s game with Bray and for the rest of the season, Cork City have swapped the Family Enclosure area with the away supporters’ section.

New steps have been put in at the St Anne’s Park end to make it easier for away fans to access their section of the ground on the Derrynane Road side.

City boss Damien Richardson hopes to be in a position to confirm Phil Harrington as the club’s goalkeeping coach later this week but he has yet to appoint an assistant manager.
