Atouba given more time

Tottenham’s Thimothee Atouba has been given extra time by the Football Association to respond to his violent conduct charge.

The midfielder is alleged to have swung an elbow into the face of Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton during Saturday’s Barclays Premiership meeting between the sides, with the City player needing stitches in a cut just above his eye.
