Rivaldo out of Toon clash

Olympiacos must do without Brazilian playmaker Rivaldo for their crucial UEFA Cup clash with Newcastle on Wednesday.

The former FIFA World Player of the Year was left out of the Olympiacos squad which will travel to England tomorrow because of an injury which also ruled him out of the weekend derby against AEK Athens.

Rivaldo almost missed last Thursday’s first leg against Newcastle because of an ankle problem and limped off after 64 minutes to be replaced by Giovanni.

Also out of the 19-man squad for the last-16 match at St James’ Park are Grigorios Georgatos and Athanasios Kostoulas, who were sent off in the first leg which Newcastle won 3-1 in Athens.
