Wanderers ready for tough season

Bray Wanderers’ manager Pat Devlin admits the Seagulls face a very difficult season as they prepare for their first year back in the Premier Division.

After two season’s in the First Division, Bray return to the top flight starting with a home clash against St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday.

With effectively the same team that was relegated from the Premier Division in 2002, Devlin admits survival will be very difficult.

“The standard has got better in the Premier Division,” he said. “We’ve maintained our standard since getting relegated so it’s going to be very tough.

“So long as everybody gives 100%, I think we have a real chance.”

“We haven’t been able to strengthen because we don’t have the money but maybe that’s a blessing in disguise because we all know each other and we could get a good start and then it’s a completely different ball game.”
