Stoke's Pulis named manager of the month

Stoke manager Tony Pulis has won the Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month award for February, after his side bounced back from a disastrous run to win three and draw one of their last four matches.

The Potters began February on the back of five consecutive league defeats but came strongly to record 1-0 victories at Wigan and Millwall.

Pulis’ side then secured a thrilling 3-2 home victory against Leicester before selling striker Ade Akinbiyi to Championship rivals Burnley in a £600,000 deal and drawing 0-0 at Coventry last weekend.

The improvement has edged Stoke back into play-off contention, and they currently lie six points off the top six before this weekend’s visit of Brighton.

Swindon’s Andy King won the League One award following his side’s unbeaten month, and Brian Horton took the accolade for League Two after leading his club to four wins out of four during February.
