Dortmund star Koller suffers lung infection
Borussia Dortmund’s top-scorer Jan Koller has been admitted to a Bochum hospital suffering from a lung infection.
The 31-year-old will spend several days under observation but the signs are that he will be able to play in the weekend game at Nurnberg as the infection was diagnosed early, according to the Westphalian club.
Koller had previously undergone hospital treatment with a similar illness and missed two games early in the 2003/04 season due to the infection being diagnosed much later than at present.
With 11 goals, the giant Czech international is sixth in the Bundesliga scoring charts and five goals in the last six games have helped Dortmund make an impressive start to 2005 as they pull away from the Bundesliga relegation zone.
