Ruud pleads for time to recover

Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is pleading for patience as he battles back to full fitness.

The prolific Holland international earned the praise of Alex Ferguson for his performance in the 2-1 win over Portsmouth yesterday but, despite playing the pass to set up Wayne Rooney for the winner, still looked off the pace.
