Pires pleads with Cole to stay

Robert Pires has urged Arsenal team-mate Ashley Cole to remain at Highbury as the Premier League launch an inquiry into allegations of an illegal approach for the player by Chelsea.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is an open admirer of Cole, who is in negotiations with Arsenal about a new contract with his current deal due to run out in 2007.
