Mido stars as Spurs see off Pompey
Spurs 3 Portsmouth 1
Egyptian striker Mido became the new White Hart Lane hero with a stunning two-goal salvo that earned Spurs their first Premiership victory since New Year’s Day.
Mido struck gold in the 33rd and 56th minutes after Diomansy Kamara had put the visitors ahead against the run of play in the 27th minute.
Mido, on loan from Roma for 18 months, went off to a standing ovation just over the hour mark after a stunning full debut for his new club.
His replacement, Robbie Keane, then completed the scoring eight minutes from time with a delightful chip over Kostas Chalkias in the Portsmouth goal.
