Nicolas Anelka completed his £7m (€10.1m) move from Manchester City to Fenerbahce this morning after passing a medical.

Anelka, who will partner former Celtic and Nottingham Forest frontman Pierre van Hooijdonk, wore the number 39 shirt as he was paraded at a press conference.

Anelka, 25, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with an option for a further 12 months.

Fenerbahce are in the UEFA Cup but are four points clear in the Turkish League and look set to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Anelka, who had spells with Arsenal and Liverpool before joining City, began his career as a youngster with Paris St Germain, and had another stint with the French giants after a dream move to Real Madrid turned sour.
