Byrne bags player of the year award
Shelbourne’s Jason Byrne has won the PFAI Player’s Player of the Year award for 2004.
The 25-year-old striker, who has won the award for the second year in a row, scored 25 goals last season as Shelbourne retained the eircom League Premier Division title while he also made his international debut against Poland in Bydgoszcz.
Meanwhile, Finn Harps’ striker Kevin McHugh won the First Division award while Waterford United striker Daryl Murphy won the Young Player of the Year award.
