Crespo hoping for Milan deal

Argentinian forward Hernan Crespo hopes AC Milan and Chelsea will be able to reach an agreement over his permanent transfer to the San Siro.

Crespo, who joined the Rossoneri in the summer on a one-year loan deal from the Stamford Bridge club, has already admitted his intention to remain in Serie A next season.

“I’m not sure what Chelsea intend to do with me,” Crespo told Radio Radio. “I will do my best to convince Milan to let me stay.”

Vice-president Adriano Galliani admitted before Christmas he was in talks with Chelsea over the transfer of Crespo.

The South American striker appears to have revived his career following a disappointing spell with the Barclays Premiership club.

However, Crespo, who has netted nine goals for Milan and remains a regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s line-up, admitted he has a good relationship with Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho.

He said: “He has always been very nice to me. He was disappointed when I left because he confessed to me that he had followed my career ever since I was at River Plate.

“But then Milan came along and he understood and allowed me to leave. I had an opportunity to train one week with Mourinho and he is very different from the image he gives – he is very prepared.

“I am not surprised by what he is achieving, I can only have nice words for him.”
