Manager Rafael Benitez insists his £6.3m ( €8.9m) signing Fernando Morientes will eventually prove his worth to Liverpool.

The Spanish star failed to score on a debut for the first time, having managed the feat previously for Albacete, Real Zaragoza, Real Madrid, Monaco and Spain.
