Celtic snub Caley's Wallace approach

Inverness Caledonian Thistle player-manager Craig Brewster has failed in a bid to bring Celtic winger Ross Wallace to the club on loan.

The 19-year-old has not started for the Hoops since the Bank of Scotland Premier League defeat by Aberdeen in October.

But Parkhead assistant boss John Robertson has told the Caley boss that Wallace is still a key member of the Celtic squad.

Brewster said: “I spoke to John Robertson at Celtic and asked him what the chances were of getting Ross here until the end of the season. He said there was no chance. They rate Ross very highly and plan to use him in the coming months.

“That’s the only conversation I’ve had with anyone about bringing players here and I’ve not made any other moves as yet. I would have been delighted to have Ross here because he is a great talent.

“To have him for a few months and give him games would have been brilliant for us. I know he is highly thought of at Celtic, though, but if you don’t ask, you don’t get.”
