Liverpool bounce back with 2-1 win

Liverpool bounced back from their New Year’s Day defeat by Chelsea with a 2-1 win at struggling Norwich.

The visitors were disappointing during the first half but came to life with two quick goals from Luis Garcia and John Arne Riise following the restart to take the spirit out of the Canaries.

With just one up front for most of the match, Norwich had struggled to create more than a few half-chances despite promising build-up, although youngster Ryan Jarvis did net a late consolation.

Hamann replaced Nunez with 12 minutes left. Norwich boss Nigel Worthington threw on another young striker, Ryan Jarvis, for Francis.

In the 82nd minute, Riise was replaced by Traore.

Jarvis gave the hosts hope following a well-struck effort with two minutes to go, but it was too little to stop the Canaries from suffering another defeat.
