Everton wait for Stubbs

Everton are hoping captain Alan Stubbs will have recovered from a back injury in time to face Portsmouth at Goodison Park tomorrow.

Stubbs, injured in training on Friday, was a late withdrawal from the team that lost 5-2 at Tottenham. Joseph Yobo deputised alongside David Weir at the heart of Everton’s defence.

Manager David Moyes is still without the suspended Duncan Ferguson along with goalkeeper Nigel Martyn, who has a torn calf muscle.
