Leeds have turned down an offer from an unnamed Premiership club for highly-rated goalkeeper Scott Carson.

The 19-year-old has not played a game this season but has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Carson impressed when he deputised for Paul Robinson last season, but Neil Sullivan has been first choice since the England keeper moved to Tottenham in the summer.

Leeds spokesman Bryan Morris said: “An offer has been made for Scott Carson by a Premiership side. This offer has been turned down by Leeds United.

“The club is speaking to Scott’s agent today in order to offer a new deal for him to stay at Leeds.”
