Everton continue unbeaten run as City beaten

Marcus Bent’s second-half header kept Everton in the top three and took their unbeaten run to seven matches.

They led early on through a Tim Cahill header, but City equalised before the break with a Robbie Fowler header, the former Liverpool man being booked for a controversial celebration when he ran half the length of the pitch slapping his head.

Bent’s header won the game for Everton in the second period, with City having substitute Christian Negouai being sent off for a lunge at Bent.
