Ipswich sign Gunners youngster on loan

Ipswich have signed Arsenal youngster Daniel Karbassiyoon on loan.

The 20-year-old American went straight into the squad for tonight’s Coca-Cola championship match with leaders Wigan at Portman Road.

Manager Joe Royle said: “He has the right attitude and Daniel is dead keen to join us. He turned down plans to fly home to Virginia for the holiday period.

“We were actually asking Arsenal about another player on loan, but then they mentioned that Daniel was available.”

Ipswich need full-back cover as Guinea international Drissa Diallo could be absent for up to four weeks with a hamstring strain.
