No Carvalho for Chelsea
Barclays Premiership leaders Chelsea faced Norwich without the services of centre-back Ricardo Carvalho, absent with a broken toe.
Carvalho is expected to be back for the Stephen's Day game against Aston Villa, having damaged his toe in the Champions League game against his former club Porto and played through the pain during the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last week.
Shuffling his pack, Jose Mourinho recalled Wayne Bridge at left-back and moved William Gallas into the middle of the defence to partner skipper John Terry.
The Chelsea boss kept faith with Eidur Gudjohnsen in attack but there was still no place in the team or on the bench for England midfielder Joe Cole.
Norwich striker Leon McKenzie returned for the visitors after recovering from a back injury but had to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench as Mathias Svensson led the attack.
Norwich were still without midfielders Gary Holt (lung infection), Damien Francis (fractured cheekbone) and Phil Mulryne (groin).
