Leeds look to commit Carson to new deal
Leeds are hoping to finalise a deal which will see goalkeeper Scott Carson commit his future to the club by the end of the week.
Carson is out of contract in the summer and Premiership giants Liverpool and Championship leaders Wigan are reported to be keeping tabs on the England Under-21 international.
The 19-year-old has failed to make an appearance this season as deputy to Neil Sullivan but the club are keen to hold on to one of their brightest prospects.
A club statement read: “We can confirm that we met with Scott Carson’s agent on Monday.
“We are in the process of formulating a contract, which will endeavour to look after the interests of both Scott and Leeds United.
“The contract has been presented to Scott and we hope discussions can be concluded by the end of the week, after which time a further statement will be issued.”
