Bernard future still uncertain

Newcastle full-back Olivier Bernard insists he has still not received any firm assurances that a new and improved contract is on offer from the club.

The Frenchman could be on his way out of St James’ Park if nothing is agreed before his current deal expires in summer 2005, but he pledged to give his all for the team in the meantime.
