Cork City offer skipper Murray a new deal

Cork City will meet again with club skipper Dan Murray this week to offer him a new deal.

The ex-Peterborough United star still has several months to run on his existing contract but he is to be offered a new two-year extension.

Murray is scheduled to meet with Cork City’s chairman Brian Lennox and technical director, Liam Murphy in the coming week to discuss his future.

“Dan will be offered a new deal and he’s well settled in Cork now. The paper work will be finalised this week,” Murphy told the Evening Echo.

There were a few rumours linking him to Bohemians and one or two other clubs but his immediate future looks set to be with Cork City.

Reserve ‘keeper Mark McNulty has signed a new two-year contract while French midfielder Oswald Lopes has returned to France after his short-term contract expired last week.

Lopes is a free agent now.

Secretary Gerry Harris is busy finalising the club’s renewal application for their UEFA club licence, the deadline for which is December 17.
