Williams joins Hammers

West Ham have completed the signing of midfielder Gavin Williams from Yeovil Town for a fee of £250,000 (€362,389).

The 24-year-old Welshman began his career with Hereford before joining Yeovil in May 2002.

Williams, who has played an integral part in the League Two side’s excellent start to the season, told West Ham’s official website, www.whufc.com: “It’s a fabulous move to a great club.”

He will not be available to face Leeds at Upton Park on Friday as he will be serving the final game of a three-match ban.
