McClaren forced to reshuffle side

Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren was forced into a major reshuffle as his side attempted to return to winning ways at home to Manchester City in the Barclays Premiership tonight.

Already without the suspended Franck Queudrue and George Boateng, McClaren was hit by the late withdrawal of defender Chris Riggott through injury.

Dutchman Michael Reiziger started his first game since dislocating his shoulder in August, while there were returns too for veteran Colin Cooper and Slovakian Szilard Nemeth.

City boss Kevin Keegan was able to name the same 11 which started the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, although that meant record signing Nicolas Anelka again missed out with an ankle problem.
