Saints strengthen squad

St Patrick’s Athletic manager Johnny McDonnell has moved to further strengthen his squad for next season by signing goalkeeper Barry Ryan from Dublin City.

Ryan, 27, replaces Chris Adamson at Richmond Park and will vie with Brendan Clarke for the number one shirt in 2005.

The former UCD and Shamrock Rovers keeper is McDonnell’s third signing of the close season, joining former Bohemians’ player Stephen Caffrey and ex-Liverpool midfielder Michael Foley.
