Redknapp quits as Pompey manager
Harry Redknapp has resigned as manager of Portsmouth today.
Redknapp had grown unhappy with chairman Milan Mandaric's decision to bring in Velinir Zajec as executive director against his wishes.
Redknapp led Portsmouth into the Premiership and was named last month's Manager of the Month.
In a statement, Redknapp said: "I have been thinking about his for some time. I made it without any pressure from the club and board."
He paid tribute to the fans and the board.
Zajec will take training in a caretaker capacity but will not take the job in a full-time role.
