Stuart Byrne has a third straight eircom League title in his sights for Shelbourne just hours after the club’s title defence celebrations got under way.

Shels held their nerve at Richmond Park last night to earn the necessary point for a second consecutive premier division crown in a goalless draw with St Patrick’s Athletic in the last game of the 2004 campaign. It was enough to resist the challenge of fast-finishing Cork City, which had to settle for runners-up spot.
