Spanish soccer chiefs apologise for racist abuse

The Football Association today received a formal apology from the Spanish Football Federation for the racist abuse directed at England’s black players in Wednesday’s international friendly.

The FA reported the abuse following the match, during which Shaun Wright-Phillips and Ashley Cole were taunted with ‘monkey’ chants, to UEFA and FIFA.
