Longford players pay the penalty
Longford Town will be missing three players at the start of next season after the trio picked up bans today ruling them out of the first games in 2005.
The eircom League’s Disciplinary Commission met on Wednesday and issued suspensions which come into effect from December 1, essentially barring such players from the first competitive games of the 2005 season.
This means Longford’s Stephen Paisley, John Martin and Eric Lavine will have an extended winter break as they each picked up one-match bans after reaching four penalty points.
Shelbourne’s Gerard Rowe, Damien Lynch of Bohemians and Derry City’s Damien Brennan are likewise affected.
