FAI expected to advertise key vacancies
The Football Association of Ireland meets today to formally back requests by Sports Minister John O'Donoghue to advertise two key positions - those of Chief Executive Officer and Director of Finance.
Last week, Minister O'Donoghue threatened to block public funding for the FAI if key recommendations in the Genesis Report into soccer reform were not implemented.
After tense exchanges last week, the FAI did a U-turn at the weekend and indicated it would honour the Genesis recommendations and advertise the two jobs.
The Association is expected to rubber-stamp that decision today.
