I'd leave Pompey for bigger club, says Yak
Portsmouth striker Aiyegbeni Yakubu has admitted he would leave Fratton Park if a bigger club came in for him.
The Nigerian signed from Maccabi Haifa last season and is Pompey’s leading scorer with eight goals in the current campaign but he revealed he has ambitions to play at a higher level.
“I love Portsmouth but I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to play for a bigger club,” he told The Sun.
“You never know when it could happen, who can say. But I know if the right offer came along I would have to go.
“I think the top clubs are where I belong. I’m confident I can do the job for the best teams. It would not worry me.
“With time I want to be one of the players who goes down in Premiership history.”
