Injury-hit Cork take on Derry City

Cork City could be without influential duo George O’Callaghan and John O’Flynn tonight when they take on Derry City at Turner’s Cross (7.45pm).

Playmaker O'Callaghan is struggling with an ankle injury while Republic of Ireland Under-21 striker O'Flynn has an Achilles’ tendon problem and both are major doubts to start tonight’s match as Cork continue their bid to nail down at least second place in the premier division and the UEFA Cup place that goes with it.

City are unbeaten in eight games but their late surge to the title looks to have been halted by last weekend’s goalless draw in Dublin with league leaders and defending champions Shelbourne, who play Longford Town on Saturday night.

Derry boss Stephen Kenny travels south without suspended duo Gareth McGlynn and Mark Farren while Killian Brennan misses out with a groin injury and Ruairdhi Higgins is also absent, with a knee problem.

Derry do welcome back centre-back Clive Delaney following a two-match ban, while leading goalscorer Alan Murphy is expected to come in to the attack as a replacement for Farren.
