Stirling keep up effort to sign Gazza
East Stirling are refusing to give up hope of bringing Paul Gascoigne to the club.
The Scottish Third Division side, who are rooted to the foot of the table without a win this season, are being aided by financial help from sponsors Littlewoods.
A statement in the Shire’s official programme for today’s programme for the match against Cowdenbeath insists the club are still chasing the former England international.
The statement said: “Efforts are continuing behind the scenes to pull off East Stirlingshire’s biggest ever transfer coup. Those who thought the headlines about Paul Gascoigne’s potential arrival at Firs Park were a joke were told the club was deadly serious.
“The negotiations were still taking place this week to see if the former Rangers and England star would still come here.”
