Cork make it magnificent seven
Derry City 0 Cork City 1
Cork City made it seven wins on the spin to close the gap on leaders Shelbourne ahead of their top-of-the-table meeting at Tolka Park on Friday night.
Cork edged in front in the 36th minute of a tight first half. Killian Brennan was robbed of the ball by Neale Horgan who fed John O’Flynn.
O’Flynn ran on to pick out Kevin Doyle who slid the ball past David Forde. The impressive Doyle had the best chance of the second half on 57 minute when chipping Forde only to see his effort come back off the Derry crossbar.
City are now just four points behind Shels.
