Wolfsburg back on top of Bundesliga
Wolfsburg returned to the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-0 win over Bochum although their stay at the top could be short-lived.
There were also morale-boosting wins today for champions Werder Bremen, who humbled Nurnberg 4-1, and Bavarian heavyweights Bayern Munich who won 2-0 at Hansa Rostock in a game where both teams finished the match with 10 men.
New Hamburg coach Thomas Doll replaced the sacked Klaus Toppmoller and made a winning start with a 2-0 win at Borussia Dortmund in front of 78,000 spectators.
Wolfsburg wrapped up their match with Bochum inside 45 minutes thanks to first-half goals from Pablo Thiam, Diego Klimowicz and Andres D’Alessandro.
But they will lose top spot to Stuttgart if they beat Freiburg tomorrow.
Hannover pulled off a 2-0 win at Borussia Monchengladbach and Arminia Bielefeld picked up their first win of the campaign at home to Hertha Berlin.
The match between Kaiserslautern and Bayer Leverkusen finished goalless.
